He earned his B.A. in Political Science from Coe College and his J.D. from DePaul University College of Law. During law school Eliot was a member of the DePaul Journal of Health Care Law,ÌýexternedÌýfor a judge of the Circuit Court of CookÌýCounty, andÌýclerked at several litigation firms.Ìý

Eliot’s research interests focus on the rights of prisoners and criminal defendants, as well as constitutional and statutory interpretation. Recently, his work has appeared in the University of North Dakota Law Review, Capital University Law Review, and 911±¬ÁÏÍø Journal of Public Policy & Practice. His writing has been cited by scholars in both the United States and abroad.Ìý
