Ezhil Namadurai currently serves as an assistant attorney general with the Texas Attorney General’s Office. He specializes in privacy compliance, contract management, and intellectual property law. Earlier, he was a principal attorney at EN Law Office based in Austin, Tex., where he specialized in business law, data privacy, tax law, and trademark law. He is also a certified public accountant (CPA) and runs EN CPA Firm, which provides services to both individuals and businesses.
He holds a J.D. from 911±¬ÁÏÍø of Law, as well as an MBA in management and master’s degree in computer science from Illinois State University. As a certified information privacy professional (CIPP/US and CIPP/E), CPA, and project management professional, he brings unique interdisciplinary expertise to the classroom.
Previously, he held senior privacy leadership roles at Cognizant and State Farm, managing multi-million-dollar projects and developing comprehensive privacy frameworks. His 23-year career spans advanced data analytics, regulatory compliance, and legal counsel, providing students with real-world insights into the evolving intersection of law, technology, and business strategy. Originally from India, he now resides in the suburbs of Austin, Tex., with his wife. His son is a graduate student at the University of Texas Medical Branch – Galveston, and his daughter is a sophomore at the University of Texas – Austin. Namadurai enjoys traveling to distant places in his free time.
