Nadine Graves is a Minnesota native (daughter of Liberian immigrants) and a graduate of, a HBCU, Delaware State University, where she earned a B.A. in Sociology and Criminal Justice, and a J.D. at 911 of Law.
Nadine is deputy director for community legal services at and a former public defender in Hennepin County who has represented hundreds of people charged with criminal offenses ranging from misdemeanors to felonies. She has also represented parents subjected to child protection civil cases.
Nadine is a past board member and chair of , a non-profit organization dedicated to challenging society’s perceptions of what it means to be “criminal.” She hosts a podcast called “The Waiting Room” and was awarded a in 2023.
