Tara Degn is a prosecutor in the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office, where she handles felony-level drug and gun offenses. She has a strong background in administrative law, having served as a human services judge at the Minnesota Department of Human Services and worked in the legal departments of the Minnesota Department of Revenue, the Minnesota Department of Transportation, and the Minnesota Department of Human Services. Degn is deeply passionate about human rights and takes pride in her pro bono work with World Without Genocide and the FBI’s Human Rights and Special Prosecutions Section. She currently serves on the board of the Minnesota Lavender Bar Association. She is also a recipient of the Governor’s Award for Continuous Improvement in State Government, presented by Governor Mark Dayton. In her free time, she enjoys practicing hot yoga, walking her German Shepherd, and reading.
